December 6, 2010 - Obama to sign Claims Settlement Act of 2010

House Bill H.R.4783 with the Cobell settlement will be signed into law on Wednesday.

The bill authorizes the $3.4 billion settlement to the Indian trust fund lawsuit. The deal provides $1.5 billion in payments to individual Indians and creates a $1.9 billion land consolidation fund.
