February 28, 2006 - One Sky Center hosted an Oregon Tribal Forum on Indian Health with former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle

On February 22, 2006, the One Sky Center hosted an Oregon Tribal Forum on Indian Health with former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle. Senator Daschle led a discussion amongst a group of key tribal representatives from across the State of Oregon on a broad range of topics related to Indian health in Oregon. A representative of the National Indian Health Board also participated. Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski attended, and sent the following attached letter to the Oregon Senate and House Delegation urging their opposition to the proposed FY2007 IHS Budget elimination of the Urban Indian Health account in the wake of the Forum.
