Abstract
Jack Brown Center (JBC) is a 23 bed co-educational facility, one of 10 Regional Treatment Centers funded by the IHS nationwide. JBC strives to provide substance abusing adolescents with opportunities for education, mental, spiritual and physical growth through treatment. |
Objectives
Provide youth with a sense of cultural identity. Provide a safe environment to build and enhance life skills, assist communities in preventing continued substance abuse.

adolescents from 39 federally recognized tribes
Key Components
Substance Abuse and Mental Health Counseling, behavior modification, anger management, stress management, relaxation techniques, coping skills, aftercare, academic assessment and placement, GED completion, and art therapy.
Evaluation Design
Data were collected through a series of focus groups and self report questionnaires with clients, stakeholders, community members and peer professionals.
